Modbap is an independent music technology company founded by Corry Banks. We design creative instruments and sound-shaping tools for musicians, producers, beatmakers, sound designers, and people who simply love working with sound.
Where this comes from
Modbap began in modular synthesis, building Eurorack hardware shaped by the intersection of electronic music technology, beatmaking culture, and hands-on performance. Not modular as an academic pursuit, and not beatmaking culture as a decoration on top of it. The two things at once, which is where the name comes from.
That foundation still runs through everything we make. The hardware taught us what a control should feel like under your hand, what a panel should ask of you, and how much of an instrument you can take away before it stops being playable.
Today Modbap extends beyond the rack into software, developing plugins and creative audio tools that bring the same philosophy to the desktop. Purposeful controls. Distinctive sound. Musical interaction without unnecessary complexity. Whether hardware or software, the goal is the same: build tools that encourage exploration, spark ideas, and become part of the creative process.

The founder
A Chicago native and SoCal transplant, Corry is a lifelong technologist, musician and beatmaker whose work lives at the intersection of music technology and hip-hop culture.
What began with BboyTechReport and a search for the tools he wanted to use himself became Modbap, bringing a beatmaker’s perspective to electronic musical instruments. That perspective still drives the work today.
Corry is now extending Modbap beyond the rack, bringing the same focus on purposeful controls, playable design and opinionated sound into plugins and software. It is the next chapter for Modbap, and a wider doorway into the brand for producers and musicians discovering it outside of Eurorack for the first time.
Modbap is rooted in beatmaking culture, informed by electronic music, and built for anyone who approaches sound creatively.
